The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Youth Affairs and Abi/Yakurr Constituency hopeful, Prince Godswill Edward, popularly known as Prince 7, has described youths as vital assets to the politically system and urged them to brace up for leadership responsibilities.
Prince Edward gave this admonition during an exclusive interview with Voplink Media recently in his office in Calabar.
The House of Representative aspirant restated the need for active political participation by the youths who have hitherto been used for thuggery and other vices that are inimical to societal development.
When asked about the Not-Too-Young-To-Rule Bill, Prince Edward said the bill is just about mental reawakening of the youths of today, as the likes of Nnamdi Azikiwe, Obafemi Awolowo, etc, were actively involved and held top political positions in the prime of their youth.
On his Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency, the SA stated that his recently released blueprint will bring a lasting solution to the skirmishes that have plagued the people, engender development, entrench effective leadership and give the people a sense of belonging.
Prince Edward admonished the people to repose their trust on someone (him) with the welfare of the people at heart and ready to bring democratic dividends to an area that has hitherto been neglected and allowed to wallow in abject poverty.
He emphasized that the era of godfatherism, favouritism and nepotism is over, adding that it is popularity and the will of the masses that will prevail this time around.
The politician, who also stated that his mandate is driven by the burning desire to ensure effective representation and bring a new lease of life to the Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency, assured the people of a representation that will bring smiles and relief to the people come 2019.
