The Yakurr Local Government Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party in Cross River State has endorsed Mr Dodeye Arikpo as their CONSENSUS candidate for the 2019 Cross River State Central Senatorial race.
Mr David Okpebiri, Chapter Chairman of the party in Yakurr LGA, made the declaration during Dodeye Arikpo’s consultative meeting with Chapter and Ward executives stalwarts of the party in Yakurr.
He said that it was time for the youths to take over the mantle of leadership, hence, it was time for Arikpo to be supported massively for Senate.
“We have resolved to pick you as our consensus candidate for the Senate. I want to inform you today that Yakurr LGA will stand by you in this race.
“Of all the consultations we have had, this one is special and unique. You are our own, we must work for you.
“We will queue behind your aspiration to make sure that this project becomes fruitful”, he said.
He urged the youths, women and men to rally their support behind Arikpo, saying that his humility, intelligence, charisma, boldness and determination will earn him a seat in the Senate.
Responding, Arikpo said that his determination to go the Senate was to give the people of Cross River Central a dynamic representation that would improve their well-being and social-economic status.
He urged the people to give him their maximum support, adding that the future of the youths starts now.
“We have entrusted the wrong people with our mandate for too long. It is time for us to elect leaders we can see, touch and hold accountable for good leadership”, he said.
Arikpo thanked the chapter executives for their warm reception and endorsement, thereby assuring them that he won’t dissapoint their trust and mandate if voted into the Senate.
Also Speaking, Mr Ojie Etta, the Special Assistant to Gov. Ben Ayade on Project Monitoring and Supervision, said that the good people of Boki local government area is solidly behind Dodeye Arikpo.
The Special Assistant appealed to well meaning sons and daughters of Cross River Central to canvass support for the aspiration of Dodeye Arikpo.
