Ebonyi State deputy governor, Barr. Kalechi Igwe has called on the Federal government to assist the affected victims of the communal crisis in the state and Cross River State with relief materials.
Gov Igwe made this call on Tuesday when he visited the scene of the crisis and applauded the efforrs of Gov Ben Ayade and his counterpart David Umahi for providing succour to the victims of the communal clashes.
He however, appealed to the Federal Government and the National Emergency Management Agency to aid both states with relief materials.
“So they are now like destitute in their own communities without food to eat again. For the fact that they have survived till now should suggest to you that the government have responded well to their responsibilities to ensure that they live very well.
“We believe that the Cross River government have also been doing the same thing to ensure that we solve the whole crisis for once.
“I also want to use this opportunity to appeal to the federal government through NEMA to urgently come to the aid of Cross River and Ebonyi to solve the Ukelle and Ubangu crisis. It’s an unfortunate incident that occurred and nobody prayed for it and that’s why NEMA exit; they should quickly come to this place to assist the people with relief materials.
