*Insists Being Son in-law To Goodluck Jonathan Has Nothing To Do With His mandate from God

One of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirants for the seat of member House of representstive in Abi/Yakurr Federal constituency in Cross River State, Prince Godswill Osim Edward has rejected claims that he’s depending on the success of former President, Goodluck Jonathan in order to achieve his political ambitions in 2019 general elections.

Prince Edward, who recently concluded a campaign tour to all the council Wards in abi/Yakurr Federal constituency in Cross River State on Thursday, told Voplink media that he has the mandate of the people based on his track records.

The former Special Adviser to the Governor Ben Ayade on youth affairs, has become a favourites amongst some of the PDP stakeholders, members, elders, youths and people of the various council ward in abi/Yakurr Federal constituency and the whole state.

Known for his Philantropist nature, Prince 7 stated that any quality candidate could be endorsed or recommended to the constituent by any group or individual in and outside the constituency.

“I have been privilege to visit the 23 council Ward and the two local government chapter of the party and going to their communities, the nooks and crannies of the villages and the abysses of the councils wards. Besides I have gotting the blessings of the traditional rulers in both Abi and Yakurr LGAs respectively.

“And I enjoyed the goodwill from the people based on my track records of constant engagement with the people, activities and empowerment programms in various quarter overtime. And the people have confidence in me, because even when I was never the son in-law to Mr President (Goodluck Jonathan) I had touched lives with scholarship, human capital development, medicals and release relief materials to war zone, engagement with Youths. Etc.

“So is it now that I seek the Peoples’ mandate I won’t do more. But I have been known for my phylantropic and humanitarian gestures.

“If they are talking about grassroot, I have been the Prince of Abi and I have always been in touch with the people and It has nothing to do with my Father in law. And having such a highly placed in-laws with good track records will be an ice on the cake of my political pursuits after my personal effort, hard work and commitment with my constituents. As a young and articulate youth; a youth leader and former special adviser to the Governor on Youth Affairs, whose door was open to everybody and is quite accessable by the youths, has deposited more advantage to Prince Edward based on the confidence and trust Youth of the state have in him. And in terms of commendation, I have created jobs within the state for the people, as an entrepreneur. Such a person has a pedigree and needs the support of the people.

“Besides someone who is generally accepted and who has the will of the people can get endorsement even from the United Nation. It doesn’t matter where the endorsement is coming from. Any group that knows you based on your pedigree, involvement and engagement with you can rise up to endorse and project you.
