Ahead of the 2019 General Election, a political support group in Cross River State ‘Team Ayade’, stormed the group secretariat enmass on Tuesday 4th September, 2018 to witness the signing of Governor Ayade nomination form by the group political stalwarts, endorsing him for second term bid.
Those who endorsed the nomination form were; the Cross River State Lawmakers in National and State Assemblies, some Exco Members, Special Advisers and Senior Special Advisers to the Governor. National Assembly Members who endorsed the form are; Senator Rose Oko, Hon. Mike Etaba, Hon. Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, Hon. Daniel Asuquo and Hon. Essien Ayi.
The Speaker, State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon John Gaul Lebo led his colleagues to endorse the nomination form.
Speaking to Newsmen shortly after the exercise, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mrs. RoseMary Effiom Archibong, informed that, Team Ayade is not only out to endorse Ayade, who in his first tenure in office has performed marvellously in all ramifications, but also to showcase his indelible marks in government and indeed Cross River State.
Mrs. Archibong maintained that his developmental strides has made the State a reference in the federation, especially in industrialization, job creation for youths and women, adding that his poverty reduction agenda will accord him credence during the primaries and the Governorship election.
Displaying the nomination form before the mammon crowd, the Chief of Staff to Governor Ben Ayade, Hon. Martin Orim, maintained that the massive support from the State and National Legislators was an affirmation of the Governor’s popularity and acceptability, noting that, the success of the Team, rests on supporters whom he enjoined to work hard at the grassroots to ensure the Governors return to office.
Also speaking, the Acting Director General of the Campaign Group, Mr. George O’ben-Etchi, said Governor Ayade is poised to reposition the State economically, socially and otherwise, pointing out that, there could not have been another occupier of the Diamond House Office for now than Governor Ayade.
