The second phase of the Entrepreneurship Development Training and Vocational Training Program for the youths and women in Biase powered by Sen. Gershom Bassey ended on 7th of March, 2019. About 120 youths and women of Biase extraction in Cross River State benefitted from this training which kicked off on 11th February, 2019. The participants received intensive training on the following areas –
Identification of Business opportunity.
Business Plan Guide.
Access to funds for Small Business.
Introduction to Book Keeping.
Creation of Local Oven.
Meat pie baking.
Plantain Chips frying.
Packaging and branding.
Total quality management.
Introduction to marketing and sales.
Legal and Regulatory matters in Small Business.
All the trainees expressed deep appreciation to Sen. Gershom Bassey for encouraging them to stand on their feet through the training. The trainees stated that the Senator is one who has recognized the root cause of poverty and has strategies to eradicate it. They applauded the Senator for exposing them to different means of wealth creation and self-sufficiency and implored him to make himself available, when the need arises, so that Cross River State can benefit from his wealth of experience and poverty eradication strategies.
Bar. Essien Ita, the Senior Legislative Aide to Senator Gershom Bassey while flagging -off the training on 11th February called on the trainees to practically apply their training so as to achieve self-sufficiency. Ita stated that even though his principal was on campaigns for re-election, he would not fail to make good his promise to Biase youth and women. He further stated that his principal through active legislation in the Red Chamber had begun the process of attracting Federal institutions that will help improve the standard of education of his constituents.
