Ex international, Mutiu Adepoju has called on the Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr to consider inviting CS Sfaxien midfielder, Kingsley Sokari to the team’s fold in preparation for the 2018 World Cup.
The former Flying Eagles star who is popularly known as ‘Nigerian Iniesta’ has made many headlines in the Tunisian League with his man-of-the-match award and his recent recipient of the November player of the month award in the ongoing season, is yet to play under Rohr.
However, Adepoju stated that though the Super Eagles midfield have quality players but then, believed that there is no harm if Sokari’s giving a look-in by Rohr.
“It is to the advantage of the Super Eagles Technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr if Nigerian players, who are doing well in their respective clubsides are giving an opportunity to play for the team.
“Since a player like Kingsley Sokari has been making the headlines in the Tunisian League with his sterling performance, I see no reason why he shouldn’t be invited.
“Nobody should think we are trying to blow his trumpet but then, is performance with CS Sfaxien is there for us to see. Named Man-of-The-Match three times before being awarded the November player of the month award shows he has done well for himself.”
