Otedola Denies Campaigning For Governorship Seat, Backs Ambode For Second Term

Chairman of Forte Oil , Femi Otedola has debunked reports emanating in the social media that he has set his eyes on becoming the next governor of Lagos State in 2019.

After a viral video gained its way into the social media, where he was seen to have declared his governorship ambition in 2019, the son of the former governor of Lagos State
swiftly stated in his twitter handle on Friday morning, that he has no intention to run for the 2019 governorship seat and that it’s the handwork of his enemies.

Besides, Otedola used the moment to praise the good work of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode in Lagos State since he gained power in 2015.

He also backed him to be elected for a second term in power in 2019.

“My attention has been drawn to a news piece where false information from a parody account was posted,” Otedola tweeted in the early hours of Friday.

“I am a man of the people and I will always be on the side of the masses but I am stating clearly via this medium that I am not running for office.”

“The Governor of Lagos State is doing a commendable job and Lagosians should be proud of him,” he said.
