A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the State and leading Senatorial Aspirant in Central Senatorial District, Barr Chris Agara has described the recent victory of the Party in the just concluded Obudu State Constituency bye election as an indication of the party’s popularity and acceptability in the State.
In a Press Statement from his media office, Barr Agara said, even though he was not surprised about the outcome of the polls, the resounding victory has further proven to the doubting thomases that the State remains a PDP stronghold.
The PDP chieftain commended the Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC) and Security Agencies for providing a level playing field for the People of Obudu to exercise their franchise even as he urge them to replicate same in the 2019 general elections.
He further lauded the leader of the Party and governor of Cross River State, Prof Ben Ayade for his sterling performance in office which he said, is what gave the PDP an easy victory against its major opposition, the All Progressive Congress (APC).
The Senatorial hopeful further congratulated, Mrs Abbey Stephen Ukpekpen on her Electoral victory even as he advised her to justify the confidence reposed on her by the people of Obudu by ensuring that only people oriented legislations that will have visible and direct impact on her people and Cross Riverians in general are pursued.
