A new political party, “New Generation Party” has spread it’s political network in Cross River with a view to win more political seats in 2019.
Chairman of the party, Dr Yakubu Shendam, said that the party has been positioned to embrace new members with the objective of promoting internal democracy by presenting credible candidates and providing strong support base for the electorates.
Dr Shendam, an aspirant for Boki/Ikom Federal Constituency, said that the party is opened to new members who have interest of belonging to a new party that has strong grassroot base.
According to him, New Generation Party was formed to give a fresh air to the younger generations to further drive their political ambition.
“In 2019, our votes are going to count. Nigerians are going to vote for individuals who can provide the needed democratic dividends and not the party.
“Some popular politicians who are in PDP and APC may not be given the opportunity to contest in their parties due to interest and god-fatherism, I want to tell them that New Generation Party is the alternative; come to our party and win your election.
“What our people want in 2019 is simple; they want credible politicians with good records and New Generation Party is the platform for transparent conduct”, he said.
Shendam, who hails from Boki LGA is a Special Adviser to Governor Ben Ayade, he is the immediate past National Youth President of Nigeria and has once served as a senior Special Assistants to Abia, Plateau and Taraba state Governor’s on Youth and students Affairs.
In 2014, Shendam was nominated by the then President Goodluck Jonathan to serve as
the Youth delegate to the National conference.
Born on August 6 1980, to the family of His Royal Highness, Chief Asu Osang Marculey Natural Ruler of Njua/kaku Ancient kingdom in Boki LGA, Shendam believes that if voted to the green chambers, the constituency will witness a speedy development through the attraction of projects, rural healthcare, education support to students, agricultural support to farmers and many others.
