National Association of Cross River State Students, (NACRISS), worldwide has appealed to Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade to
approve bursary for all the students of the state home and in disapora to help facilitate some of their academic challenges.
Making this known was the Vice President of the student association, Comrade Ekpo Blessing, who spoke during aa public rally in Calabar, where she stated that Gov Ayade’s financial help would help to revive their academic pursuit without any form of truncation.
“The students of Cross River State recognise what you have been doing for our parents and guardians in the areas of job creation, prompt payment of salaries and an enabling and peaceful environment for businesses to thrive.
“We can not also gloss over the industrialisation drive of your excellency which is fast turning the state to the industrial hub for the region. But in view of the rising cost of education as well as of other things, we appeal to your excellency to please as a matter of urgency, approve bursary for all the students of the state home and abroad to help many of us who face an abrupt truncation of their academic pursuits and boost the performances of the rest”.
Blessing also commended Gov Ayade’s tremendous efforts in giving Cross River a facelift through his powerful infrastructural development within his last three years in office.
However, she called on the people in the state to entrust their vote on Gov Ayade in the 2019 general elections.
“The association is committed to ensuring the re-election bid of his excellency in 2019 as that will only guarantee more sustainable development in the educational sector”.
Ekpo further promised that the students community in Cross River State will continue to partner with, “Your Excellency for the development of our dear state”.
