Former governor of Ekiti , Chief Olusegun Oni has called on the All Progressive Congress (APC) to align with the progress of the party in a bid to overcome the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the July 14 Governorship election in the state.
Despite his defeat in the APC’s governorship primary election which provided former Minister of Steels and Mines and one time former governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi as sole candidate, Oni appealed for all party members to unite and work together on how to comprehensively defeat PDP in Ekiti.
“If we are really loyal to Chief Segun Oni and believe in my principle , we must keep this party alive and work together as one by remaining committed and dedicated to its success in the July 14 election.
“We remain in APC . We are to work for the party and it has a candidate , in person of Dr . Kayode Fayemi. We have a duty to help the Nigerian political process to further evolve . The idea of aspirants jumping ship after primaries must be discouraged . If we won, we would have expected others to remain and work with us .”
