Land Crisis: Gov Ayade Orders Deployment Of Soldiers To Obudu Commmunity To Maintain Peace


Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade has charged Brigadier General G.G. Ally Barracks to deploy troops to Obudu communtiy in a bid to calm the boundary crisis between Abonkib Community in Obudu town and Mgbazerem Community in Vandeikya Local Government in Benue state that took a different dimensions on Wednesday morning.

The crisis which has made many families to seek safety in neighbouring Communities, have already seen the arrival of Nigerian Soldiers to the scene of the crisis in order to bring nolmacy to the two Communities.

Led by the State Security Adviser to the governor, Mr. Jude Ngaji, Gov Ayade’s directive may have come as a welcome relief to the affected Communities.

In the words of Ngaji: “I have asked Cross River indigents traveling from the Northern parts of the country to Cross River through Vandeikya in Benue state to take caution or suspend their journey until there is calm so as not to fall victims of the crisis.

“Cross River government is top of the situation and would do it utmost best to protect the citizens of state.

He however, appealed to the Benue state government to put counter measures that will return immediate peace to the Boundary area.
