An employee of a popular pharmacist (Odonah) Mathias Odo was Kidnapped by unknown suspects at Okuku in Yala Local government area of Cross River State.
Yala youths have successfully rescued a local businessman who was reported missing following an attack and kidnapping at about 5pm on Saturday evening,
they shot sporadically at okuku junction and scared youths who mistook them for SARS.
Barrister Alphonsus Ogar Eba through his social media handle alerted Yala youths and they were immediately mobilized for search.
“Following this incident, the Youth and the security joint operation were immediately activated to track down the perpetrators and to rescue the kidnapped businessman,” Eba said on Saturday night .
With the arrival of Barrister Alphonsus Ogar Eba and swift mobilization of over 100 youths from okuku, Echumoga and Yache – Yala CRS in conjunction with vigilantee group in korinya and ihugh in benue state who rode bikes through the bush paths and drove through all routes along korinya, vandikiya and Adikpo.
“The youths went into the bush and on sighting the youths, the kidnappers abandoned their victim and fled.
We rescued him unhurt,it was a miracle,we thank God .
“This is part of the dividends of community policing. I urge our people to keep sharing information with the police and rellevant agencies,Eba also appealed to the people to be vigilant in their environment and report to the appropriate authorities any suspicious person in their mist.
The car used for the operation was later found abandoned near Benue suburb within the City of Vandeikiya.”
After hosting the youths to an all night party, Eba assured the family of the deceased his full support.
Eba further mandated that Yala sets up a vigilantee group to be funded by him in conjunction with all kind hearted people and business men
The kingpin of the gang has been Identified as Jam Valentine Imoter a student of Benue state University,Markudi.
The DPO of Yala has since swung into action to apprehend the suspects anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects involved should contact any nearest Police Station.
