One of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) aspirants for the position of Abi/Yakurr Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, Prince Godswill Edward has reiterated his commitment and willingness to represent the interest of the people rather than to enrich himself ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Prince Edward, who made this known on Friday during an interview on CRBC TV that was monitored by Voplink media, stated that the youths must be prepared to make a positive change by allowing their vote count for them without compromising it with money.
Besides, he also applauded Cross River State Governor, Ben Ayade for giving the youth a chance to serve in his administration and believed he has help in changing the mentality of the Youths in the state as far as governance is concern.
“Youth leadership has come to stay; a reason I have devoted myself to serve the people. Besides, four years is not enough for me to enrich myself but it is enough to serve and impact on my people.
“In every generation, God raises a leader and for this generation, I am a leader. We must lead ourselves first, before leading others.
“The problem in leadership today is as a result of people who just wake up only to find themselves in the leadership position rather than going through the processes of leadership.
“The truth is, when you lay a good track record of leadership, you will excel.”
Finally he parted with this word of wisdom, “usefulness in youthfulness”.
