Ahead of the October 3rd primaries of the All Progressive Congress for the Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency, ward executives of the party in Ikom LGA have endorsed the aspiration of Hon. Victor Abang, a.k.a Mature, to fly the party’s flag during the 2019 polls.
The ward chairmen endorsed Hon. Abang when he (Abang) embarked on a ward-to-ward tour of the 11 wards in Ikom local government area of Cross River State to solicit their support and votes during the primaries.
Speaking, Mr Nsan Goodluck, Ward Chairman of Ofutop 2 ward, told Hon. Abang that all registered APC members in the ward will vote for him during the primaries.
According to Nsan, Hon. Abang is a household name in politics, adding that it was time for the good people of Ikom/Boki federal constituency to vote massively for his victory.
“We have heard of your numerous good works for your people. We are happy that you are now extending that hand of fellowship to us.
“I want to assure you that all the votes from this ward are intact for you. Your aspiration is a welcome development and we are behind you”, he said.
Also, the Ward Chairman of Ikom Urban Ward 1, Mr Ogar Ebi, said that Hon. Abang is the most outstanding aspirant for the job.
He said that Abang has the capacity, experience, strength and connections to win any PDP opponent at the polls in 2019.
Similarly, the Ward Chairman of Akparabong, Mr Solomon Agam, said that Abang has shown commitment, seriousness and the desire to represent the people of Ikom/Boki federal constituency at the National Assembly.
He prayed for the aspiration of Hon. Abang, saying that the period for the APC to takeover is now.
According to him Abang was the most suitable for the job in view of experience, humility, generosity capacity and courage.
Responding, Hon. Abang told his massive supporters including the youths, women, men, support groups and chiefs that he was in the race to win the polls.
Abang, who have served three Senate Presidents consistently in the National Assembly and has acquired a wealth of experience in legislative operations, said that his desire to run for the election was to give his people and effective, quality and dynamic representation.
Abang, who is also the current Chief of Staff to the Chairman of NDDC, advised APC members in Ikom not to vote for any aspirant that will trade with the party’s ticket during the polls.
In other wards visited in Ikom, the various chairmen who drum support for Hon. Abang, assured him of their bloc votes during the primaries and in the election.
