The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Adamu has changed the shift duty structure of the Nigeria Police Force to eight-hour and three shift standard.
He made this known on Thursday at the Force Headquarters in Abuja during a conference of heads of Police Medical Facilities.
Adamu revealed that the old method of 12-hour, two shifts pattern would change in order to create efficiency and effectiveness in the force.
This was confirm via the police official twitter handle @policeNG on Thursday.
“IGP orders immediate reversal of the shift duty structure of the @PoliceNG which is currently a 12-hour, 2-shifts system to the traditional 8-hours, 3-shifts duty standard while declaring open the conference of heads of Police Medical Facilities at the Force HQ.
