Ntufam (Dr.) Sandy Ojang Onor, a People’s Democratic Party Senatorial aspirant for the Cross River Central Senatorial District, has averred that he is going to the Senate, replete with the wherewithal to engender effective representation for the people of Cross River Central.
Ntufam Onor made this assertion recently during an interactive session with newsmen in Calabar.
“I am going to the Senate as a practical politician who understands the dynamics on ground. I am going there as a tested scholar who believes that ideas rule the world. That combination is what we need to create a new, deeper, better and a more profound Nigeria. That is the balance I will take into the Senate and I am sure my people will be better for it,” Ntufam Onor enthused.
The eloquent politician assured the people of Central Senatorial District of efficient execution of constituency projects, strengthen the cause of justice and ensure that their yearnings and aspirations are properly articulated and placed in perspective in the National Assembly, adding that “I will do all that a legislator needs to do, which in the final analysis, will attract to my constituency the benefits and dividends of democracy that a proper Senator should bring.”
He further stated that his senatorial ambition is driven by the burning desire to serve his people, saying, if voted, he will bring his wealth of experience to the vantage, which he said, will yield better representation for the people.
The Senatorial aspirant also promised to create avenues for development and be accessible to them, share himself and his substance with the people, saying, “by my understanding, leadership is about leaving a legacy.”
As an astute politician, Ntufam Onor has been a one-time Chairman of Etung Local Government Area, where he was the deputy national President of ALGON, and Commissioner; as an academic, a lecturer at the prestigious University of Calabar.
