Gold fish has no hiding place.Its enchanting features always stand it out in the midst of others.Argurably, Hon.Martin Orim, the youthful Chief of Staff to the Executive Governor Cross River state, Professor Ben Ayade, is gold fish.
Hon.Orim’s dexterity in helping to realise the impactful goals of his boss’ administration, his unwavering commitment to the sucess of the the administration and unalloyed loyalty to his principal remain the elegant defining features of this young man’s four years in the saddle as Chief of Staff to Nigeria’s most focused and visionary governor.
As gold fish, it was therefore, not a huge surprise that Pan African Good Governance Council, a body promoting good governance in the polity, easily spotted the Chief of Staff out and found him worthy of an Award Wednesday.
At a ceremony in Calabar, the Cross River state Capital, the body bestowed on Orim, an Award for outstanding leadership and good governance.
The council described Hon.Orim as a diligent and hard working young man who has demonstrated competence and class beyond doubt in his job.
In his remarks, the evidently elated Chief of Staff said the Award came to him as a surprise as he had no prior knowledge of it and thanked the organisers for singling him out for honour.He commended Professor Ayade for giving youths the opportunity to excel in his government.
He described the last four years of Ayade in office as the finest years in the history of the state, assuring that the next four years will see Cross River completely out of the doldrums.
“The industrialization drive of his Excellency, his soul- lifting infrastructural strides and his commitment to enthroning Cross River of tommorow are job creation catalysts that will see many of our youths gainful employed in no time”, he said
