Rt Honourable Mike Etaba has charged the people of Obubra that appears to be torn apart by war with neighbouring Izzi in Ebonyi state to embrace peace and togetherness in order to achieve positive results.
He made this call when he visited the community and advocated for a co-existing lifestyle devoid of hatred and violence.
He said:“No community strives under war. It hampers our economic growth and lead to the lose of lives and properties. Our lives remain our most valuable assets. These wars have continued and only halted temporary irrespective of our efforts.
“To put an end to it, My colleague representing Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency and I have made sure there is budgetary provisions to enable the national boundary commission put a boundary in this region. We believe this will stop this war permanently.
“I will also beckon more on the Governor to double our security arrangement and also liaise with the government of Ebonyi State to make sure we all have peaceful coexistence.
“As a government, we are all interested in our security and will stop at nothing till we achieve peace and unity within ourselves and neighbours. ”
