It takes self courage and determination to venture into Nigeria’s politics with the aim of leading a large set of population.
However, being a leader comes with a bigger responsibilities that often deprive one of his or her precious time all in the name of making things work out for the good of the people.
This sort of ideology has made Helen Isamoh Egodo, to want to take full responsibility of representing Biase State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2019 General Elections.
Interestingly, Helen Isamoh is the special assistant on Gender and Development while her husband Mfa Erim-Ndoma Egodo is the special assistant on power to Governor Ben Ayade.
Many may think being a woman could limit her chances of winning considering the fact that her male counterparts may subdue her easily due to their familiarity with the ‘dirty’ game of politics that is usually attached with it. But then, Egodo’s lionesses heart has seen her weather many storm in her journey of life and may also see this great task one of those responsibilities that are surmountable.
Regarded as the ‘Light’, Egodo has promised to be effective representation, foster peace and unity, ensure equality and gender party while also assuring the people of total empowerment if giving the mandate to represent the people in Biase State Constituency.
One of the key issues that Egodo must clearly addressed must be the boundary issue in the Constituency that has created unwanted violence recently.
There is no doubt that Hele Isamoh Egodo remains the choice of the people in her Constituency and the vision of leading her people may finally come to reality after the 2019 general elections.
