The Director-General of Cross River State Scholarship Board, Mrs. Nuella Tessy Anyin has disclosed that the State Governor, Senator (Prof.) Ben Ayade, through the Scholarship Board, will soon commence scholarship for deserving students of Cross River origin.
The Director-General made this known when speaking to Voplink Media recently in her office in Calabar.
Mrs. Anyin stated that with her assumption of office, the Board has commenced capturing of Cross River State students studying overseas in its database and also liaising with school authorities across the State in order to chart a course for the successful takeoff of the scheme.
She said the State Government is putting modalities in place to extend the scholarship programme to Secondary and Primary School levels in order to scout for young brilliant lads from low backgrounds and affording them quality education.
The DG also pointed out that the State Government’s effort in the education of Cross Riverians is a deliberate long term plan to develop manpower that would sustain the burgeoning industrialization that has beckoned on Cross River, through Governor Ben Ayade.
According to Mrs. Anyin, “it will be gratifying to see Cross Riverians manning our industries and holding high ranking positions in the near future, hence the need for quality education for Cross Riverians on all fronts.”
The CRSSB Boss assured Cross River State students that by the next academic session, the scholarship programme must have taken off in earnest and the rippling effect in the years to come will be immeasurable.
She urged Cross Riverians to continue supporting the Ayade-led administration by ensuring that they vote on the 9th of March to return him to the Peregrino House in order to complement the achievements of his first tenure.
