…Sanwo-Olu, Hamzat Assure Lagosians Of Inclusive Governance
Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, has appealed to Lagosians to use their voting mandate to vote in the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and deputy governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat, as the next leaders of the state on March 9.
Speaking during a live interview on “This Morning” on Television Continental (TVC) on Thursday, the former Lagos State governor believed that Lagosians should not surrender their governance to the opposition but to entrust their votes to a party such as APC that understands the state better.
Fashola accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of almost collapsing the state by denying the party their budgetary allocation and the demand for the expansion of the local government areas for proper development.
He also insisted that Lagos should choose between their protectors and aggressors that locked down Lagos with military personnel during his tenure as governor on Ikorodu Road.
“I feel privileged to be here as a citizen and to say that the choice we have to make on Saturday will be a choice that is not so much about APC or any other party. But it will be a choice about ourselves. Who should we entrust our lives to and without a doubt in our mind, it is this team (Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Obafemi Hamzat).
“We are at a point in our development that we can’t experiment. It is important to emphasis that APC or me, Jide or Femi are not the most brilliant people but we are better than the other side. In terms of experience, we are better; governance we are better and our successes have been validated nationwide, on the continent and beyond.
“So this has gone beyond just experimenting with other opposition. We should look at the choice that lies within us. This is not a matter of whether you like us or not. You must like yourself first. In making that choice on Saturday, you must have to think of someone that thinks about you.
“Think back, when Lagos wanted to bring government closer to the people, who opposed it, it was the other party. Like I always tell myself that I will refrain from calling names. Are these the people you want to give your life to? Besides, if you remember FERMA under their governance and the ‘now’ FERMA under APC governance, you will certainly see a big difference in it. Governance is not all about experimenting like I said considering the fact that our party has done the good work and it will be better we maintain that continuity,” Fashola said.
Meanwhile, the APC governorship candidate, Sanwo-Olu, has promised to transform the state with his visionary agenda to complement the achievements of the party in Lagos State.
He revealed that emphasis would be focused on electricity, security, education and transportation that would help to better the economy of the state.
In the same vein, the APC deputy governorship candidate, Hamzat, stated that Lagosians are guaranteed equal representation where their opinions would be taking seriously.
He assured that their government would always set the pace for inclusive governance in a bid to take the state to greater height.
