The Cross river state Director general for due process and price intelligence bureau, Hon.Barrister Alphonsus Ogar Eba, has congratulated the Cross river state Muslim community on the celebration of the Eid al-fitr, urging them to promote religious harmony, peaceful co-existence and tolerance to promote unity.
The DG in his Eid al-fitr message signed by his media aide, Egbara Emmanuel, said religious harmony, peaceful co-existence and tolerance were core prerequisites for the unity and development of Cross river state.
“I implore all our muslim brothers and sisters to reflect on the symbolic lessons of faith and obedience attached to the spiritual doctrine of sacrifice by Prophet Ibrahim many centuries ago. “Also is its attendant blessings to mankind. We should apply same in our day to day activities and relationship with people,’’ he said.
The DG urged Muslims to use the occasion to continue to pray for the peace, economic stability and development of the state and Nigeria. He also charged them to imbibe the virtue of praying for political leaders at all levels.
“In our quest to make Cross river a safe haven through ideas,experience and innovation , the cross river state due process and price intelligence bureau under my watch has initiated pragmatic policies and laudable programmes aimed at championing peaceful coexistence for all Cross riverians.
“This is irrespective of status, race, ethnic or religion.
We have demonstrated the political will to achieving this vision by our uncommon zeal and commitment to the revitalisation of our institutions across the state,’’ he said.
Eba appealed to the people to reciprocate the good gestures by complying with basic etiquette of peaceful living as well as strict adherence in maintaining a peaceful and safe environment.
He urged Cross riverians to remain observant and report to the nearest security facility to seek help on strange happening in their community.
