*As CRS PDP Chapter Promises To Relay Messages To National Chairman In Abuja
Supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Cross River State embarked on a peaceful protest in Monday to challenge the decision of the party to issue automatic tickets to some aspirants ahead of the 2019 general elections.
It will be recall that some aspirants have began screening for the 2019 general elections at the party’s headquarters in Wadata Plaza, Abuja.
The prostesters stormed the PDP zonal office in Cross Riverian State to kick against such move and demanded that every candidate running for any elective positions have to fight for the ticket to contest the 2019 poll.
Some of the protesters stated that the decision to sideline other opponents and given automatic party tickets for some selected persons was taken by the Party Superiors which is the highest decision making organ of the party.
They claimed that they want a level playing ground for all aspirants irrespective of position, adding that the party has to resolved their decision and do away with all manner of impositions and impunity.
Meanwhile, Cross River State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called for calm and assured every aspirant and supporters that their protest message will be communicated to the national chairman and his board of trustee at wadata plaza abuja.
