Cross River Ex-commissioner, Egba bags ‘Cross River Town Hall Initiative’ award of excellence

The Cross River state immediate past commissioner for commerce and industry, Hon. Peter Akam Egba has been honour with the award of Excellence in recognition of his contributions to industrial revolution in Cross River State.

Chief Samuel Egba, who expressed satisfaction on the performances of Peter Egba, stated that Cross Riverians are proud of his unflinching support towards the industrial development of the state during his first four years and hope that the governor, Sir Ben Ayade will retain him (Peter Egba) so as to do more.

“If Hon. Peter Egba can structurally diversify the state scares resources into industrial hub in four years, then Cross Riverians should be sure of a brighter future ahead”, Samuel added.

Appreciating the group, Peter Egba thanked “Cross River Town Hall Initiative” for taking cognizance of his activities, policies and programs. Extending his appraisal message to the governor, Sir Benedict Bengioshuye Ayade for his outstanding performance which is envisaged on his people oriented projects (Industries) aimed at leapfrogging the state to an employment generating centre.

Continuing, Akam further added that Ayade in the last Four years embarked on a copious, unparallel transformation agenda which will be densify in the second tenure to create the desired impact.

“Apart from executing the ongoing signature projects of Bakassi Deep seaport and the 275 kilometers superhighway, the Governor doggedly and passionately embarked on radical industrialization of the state which culminating in the establishment of industries across the state”, Ex-commissioner said.

According to Hon. Peter Akam, some of the Ben Ayade’s signatory projects include; Cross River State Pharmaceutical company limited, Cross River Garment Factory, Rice Seeds and Seedling and Multiplication Factory, Cala-Chica, Cala-noodles, Piles and Pylons Factory, Akamkpa, Tooth Pick Factory, Ekori,Yakurr, Cocoa processing Factory, Ikom, Rice Mill, Ogoja, Chocolate factory about to be incubated in Ikom where the required raw materials are accessible (Coacoa) among others.

Egba who pledges his readiness to the group, assured the initiative of his willingness to support the group’s oriented programmes in the state.
