Eval Asikong, who is the Special Assistant to Governor Ayade on Social Media has finally yielded to pressure from his people in Itigidi to run for State House of Assembly to represent Abi State Constituency. The calculation of the Itigidi stake holders is that, in 1979, Hon Ukata from Afafanyi/Igonigoni Council Ward was elected into the State House of Assembly on the platform of NPN and was re-elected in 1983; in 1992, Enyinyi Eze from Usumutong/Abeugo Council Ward was elected into the Cross River State House of Assembly on the SDP platform. That was when Senator Liyel Imoke became the youngest ever elected Senator in the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the platform of NRC. Then, Abi was operating two houses and Elizbeth Egbe from Imabana emerged to represent the second constituency in Abi still in that 1992 on SDP platform .

In 1999, Hon Idaka from Ekureku emerged to represent Abi State Constituency on the platform of PDP. In 2003, Hon Isaac Igiri from Edina Usumutong Ward emerged to represent Abi State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly under the platform of PDP. In 2011, Rt. Hon John Gaul Lebo from Adadama was elected to represent Abi State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly.

With this intellectual orientation of the State House of Assembly political history of Abi State Constituency, history has never favoured Itigidi in that regard, as it is only Itigidi that has never tasted the State House of Assembly since the beginning of the world. Therefore, it will be an agitation in the right direction, if Itigidi will clamour for a shot at the State House of Assembly, which is why Eval Asikong has been pressured by some stake holders to throw his hat to the ring.
