President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the reduction in the registration fees of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and the National Education Council (NECO) internal Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) effective from January 2018.
President Buhari made the announcement through the Twitter handle of his Media Aide on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, that from January 2019 UTME and NECO (SSCE) registration fees would be N3,500 and N9,850 respectively as against the N5,000 and N11,850 they were until the latest development.
Bashir tweeted on his Twitter handle, @BashirAhmaad, that “President @MBuhari approves the reduction in the cost of forms for JAMB UTME, NECO SSCE and Basic Education Certificate Examination. JAMB from N5,000 to N3,500, NECO from N11,350 to N9,850. With effect from January 2019.”
JAMB form which used to sell at N5,000 has been reduced to N3,500 while NECO form was reduced to N9,850 from N11,350.
