President Muhammadu Buhari has finally presented the 2018 National budget to the National Assembly.
The presentation was done on Tuesday and the budget will cost N8.6trillion amidst cheers from the Senators, remains the highest budget since the history of Nigeria.
Buhari said he was targeting Jan. 1, 2018 for passage of next year’s budget and that the deficit is expected to be 2.005 trillon naira, with real economic growth estimated at 3.5 percent for 2018.
The 2018 budget must still be
approved by the lower and upper
chambers of parliament before it can be signed into law, a process that can take many months.
