Senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani says the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to place a ban on mining activities in Zamfara won’t bring an end to the continuous killings in the state.
Recall that on Sunday the Federal Government banned mining activities in Zamfara and also threatened to revoke licenses of violators of the order.
However, Sani, who tool to his twitter handle on Monday to expressed his displeasure with the decision, stated that a better step should be taken rather than suspend mining activities.
“Suspension of mining activities is a good step in ending illegal mining; but a non starter in ending banditry.
“The nation is at war; the moral, historical and constitutional calling at times like this is for the leadership to frontally rise to the occasion in defence of this republic.”
