Attack On Gov Fayose’s An Abuse Of His Fundamental Rights – PDP

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned in strong term the assault meted on Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose during Wednesday’s proposed rally in Ado-Ekiti that was disrupted by some mobile Policemen.

It will be recall that Gov Fayose collapsed after he was hit by the canister of a teargas fired by some mobile policemen in a bid to disperse a rally schedule to hold at Fajuyi Park, near Government House in support of PDP candidate, Deputy Governor, Kolapo Olusola ahead of Saturday’s Election in the state.

In press release signed by the Speaker Cross River State House of Assembly & Chairman PDP Speakers Forum, Rt. Hon John Gaul Lebo on July 12, 2018, he quarried the action of the policemen knowing fully that the Constitution guarantees freedom of association and not withstanding the fact that the period stipulated by Independent Electoral Commission for campaign in Ekiti had not elapsed.

However, he called on the attention of the international community to the brutish action of the federal government of Nigeria and the seeming threat to Nigeria’s Democracy while urging them to take necessary step to stem the tide of tyranny and tyrants rearing their ugly heads in our polity.
