The Cross River State Commissioner for Information&Orientation,Mrs RoseMary Archibong has advocated for a collaborative efforts among different Women platforms to tackle the myriads of issues affecting women in the society. Mrs Archibong stated this in her office in Calabar while recieving in audience the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of Hope for the Woman in Me Initiative
(TWIN Initiative), Mrs Onyebuchi Oyeniyi and her team that paid her an advocacy visit. The Commissioner posited that Women groups in the campaign for women emancipation need to inter-connect with other platforms in order to succeed,adding that the plight of women is not localized but cuts across borders .
She lauded the Founder of TWIN initiative,Mrs Oyeniyi for forminig the NGO, emphasizing that her efforts will continue the struggle from where women stopped.
Speaking earlier,Mrs Onyebuchi Oyeniyi said the TWIN initiative was borne out of her passion for womanhood,noting that it was a platform to reach out to women in the society.
Mrs Oyeniyi said the NGO play key role in marriage issues, education rights,the place of women in society,domestic voilence against women,women emancipation ,among others. High point of the visit is the decoration of Mrs Archibong as Patroness of the TWIN Initiative.
