A social commentator and political analyst, Nchor Julius Uti, has admonished the people of Cross River to massively caste their vote for the re-election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and incumbent governor, Senator Ben Ayade in the forthcoming governorship election.
Ayade, who was elected in 2015 has remained one of the few governors that has brought total growth and development in all the 18 Local Government areas in the state.
With his toughest challenge coming from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Senator John Owan-Enoh, Julius Uti reiterated the need for all Cross Riverians to diligently vote for Ayade for the sake of continuity.
He said: “Four year ago I was in Cross River State to campaign for Former President Goodluck Jonathan and His Excellency Sen (Prof) Ayade Benedict. The former is history now. I was opportuned to be in the 14 Local Government Area out of 18 LGA’s in the state. I also had the privilege to attend some of the town hall meetings before the campaigns.
“The message was very clear: We campaigned for a: A Voice for [Smart Growth/Lower Taxes/Etc.]. A Voice for the young to be inclusive in governance. And for the Industrialization of Cross River State from the former civil service centre it was always known for.
“His Excellency promised to change the dynamics. As a man of integrity, honesty, and commitment to the growth of the State, he had, and he is still in the path of progress. Some people might not see what he is doing today, not now, but, it is about us, about our generation to take an urgent step further from what governance used to be.
“This is another opportunity. We are not asking for too much, we are just asking for a Cross River State of the North, South and Central. A Cross River State of our dream. Where we can all belong to and achieve our goals.
“Since culture makes people understand each other better …We are asking for a vote for the North, a vote for a leadership with experience and commitment. Quality government that will create jobs for young people.
“I appeal to all my friends and well wishers to Vote Sen (Prof) Ben Ayade.
